Lunch in the City of Culture

Just a quick photo blog from my first days in Derry!
Well to start with, the people of the Void Gallery are among the nicest people you could meet. That and Derry is the PLACE TO BE this summer. Seriously, today I saw monks rolling around on segways.
For the last few days I have been invigilating for two exhibitions, Picturing Derry and The Shirt Factory. I will  write up a blog following this one about them.

An image taken from The Shirt Factory, the exhibition is by Derry artist Rita Duffy and is housed in the amazing old factory building. Wait until you see the inside in the next post.
This man, Cheft Incognito ,makes the greatest burgers in Derry. I don't care if I have only been here a few days and am therefore unqualified to make such a statement. But he does, he really does.
Find him.
Order a burger.
Eat it in the sunshine.

There has been so much happening in the city in the last week. Especially by the Guildhall. The talking point this week is a series of events that celebrates the 1450th anniversary of St.Colmcille's journey to Iona.
Today there was a stage set up outside the Guildhall, and it was packed with people and children and costumes. So I sat here eating my lunch (that amazing burger from Chef Incognito) and watched the festivities.

Bumped into a Hari Krishna today, he was very nice and invited my to their private Island for free. No joke, they have an Island! On top of that, he gave me a little book that has something to do with Yoga....I haven't gotten around to reading it just yet..(Too busy trying to find their Island)

Stalking ladies around Derry on a hot day.

And of course, a giant Teapot.
